Chinooky for Can-o-Nasty Jerry was on fire to day four Chinook and two steelhead..by 10AM.. Well all good things change. The steelhead game is improving with leaps and bounds and these bronzed battlers are turning into the zombie apocalypse. In a few weeks the spawning grounds will be infested, in a good way, with the stench of spawning salmon.. The WDFW has announced the opening of the upper Columbia tributaries, primarily the Methow and Wenatchee. With the flows we have it will be a swing game on decent numbers of (federal) wild steelhead. Knowing how the Methow reacts the first month will be a blast especially with the water flow. I think is flowing around 1000 cfs although the graph that is funded by the feds shows differently (no surprise there). My game will be the dry or the I line right out of the gate with nymphing on the run to keep things wet.. Cant wait to throw one of these: The Peccary Spangler The whole reason for life as a steelhead fisher is fulfilled every fall when these Icons of the NW will rise again to the dry fly... Dates open this fall..

Just wanted to let you know that I had a great time staying at the Boggy House and fishing with you and the guy's. You run a great operation and I look forward to when I get the chance to make another trip out. The waters presented a bit of a challenge but you, Andy, and Ryan still got me into fish and the fight of my life with that monster I had on for a bit with Ryan. I didn't get the chance to fish with Nate but he was a great help in selecting a head and tip for me to use with the Bamboo Cannon. All great guides! My only complaint is that Annie is too good a cook and I gained at least 5 pounds from eating so much - those scrambled eggs sure were good! Please pass on my thanks to everyone.

Thank you for the few days of fishing with you guys at Klickitat couple weeks ago. Please pass my regards to Andy and Aaron also! I enjoyed fishing with you guys and being patient with the newbie. The setting was brilliant and I liked the relaxed atmosphere in the house. I definitely need to remember to “sweep the bow” but I think at the end of the trip I almost got it. Catching the first King and Steelhead was on the to-do list for the trip and those goals were exceeded. Next time need to catch one on the swing.
I have been entertaining the idea to head out somewhere February, March, April timeframe. It all depends on the amount of tax return and what happens at work. If you have any ideas, please let me know.
Hope you guys have had good season at the Methow!
Regards, Petteri Strömberg
